Hi everyone, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Summer and my husband is Billy. For starters we wan't to thank you for taking the time to look at our fundraising page, whether it be to learn more about what we're doing or even donate, we truly appreciate your support.
I was born with a condition called MRKH (short for Mayer-Rokitansky-Kster-Hauser Syndrome) which affects every 1 in 5,000 girls. This condition affects the reproductive organs in a female and can differ in severity. In my case I have a very small uterus which is not capable holding a child. I am blessed that I do have both of my ovaries and do have follicles (eggs)! Since I do have eggs, we hope to start the process of IVF. I can do the first part of IVF as if I were going to carry the child. Once they create an embryo, rather then placing it back in me, which they would do in a normal round of IVF, they will place it into our gestational carrier. From there we pray and hope that the embryo latches and we have baby Slocum in the making!
Billy and I are in the process of starting IVF and with that comes a pretty expensive bill. On top of that we also have to pay legal fees and a surrogate. With all of this excitement, there is the stress of the financial part of this.
Your support and prayers mean more to us than you will ever know. If you are able to donate we would be beyond thankful, but if not, we are just so grateful for your support through this journey.
