Five Miscarriages Later...

I have endured five pregnancy losses, including a devastating preterm neonatal death at seven months, miscarriage, and multiple D&C surgeries due to an abnormal and unviable pregnancy. Discovering that my husband and I are carriers of recessive genes that lead to fetal abnormalities and miscarriage has been a huge challenge, but it has also deepened my commitment to creating a family the safest way, through IVF and genetic testing. These heart-wrenching experiences have only strengthened my decision to pursue fertility treatment, but I simply cannot afford it. Imagine multiple genetic counselors and doctors telling you, "Because of your baby's genetic condition, they will pass away sooner or later, whether that's in your belly or after giving birth."
