Hello friends, family, and other supporters!
We are Bianca & Dori and we wanted to share our story with you about why we’re here. We met four years ago and instantly knew we wanted to build a life and a family together. We got married in September 2023 and began our next adventure of starting a family right after our honeymoon. It has been a challenging yet hopeful year of trying to grow our family.
We traveled across three different countries over the span of four months to meet with our sperm donor and did at-home inseminations with what you would probably imagine as the “turkey baster” method. Back in April, we thought we finally conceived only to learn that it was a chemical pregnancy which completely broke our spirits. As a result, we consulted with a fertility specialist and ultimately discovered that conceiving naturally was not in the cards for us and that infertility would require us to turn to clinical intervention.
Our fertility doctor suggested we try IUI (intrauterine insemination) in clinic, and we pursued this path with everything we had. After multiple heartbreaks, we learned that IUI would not work for us either. We were then advised to pursue IVF as our next step to bypass the complications we’ve been facing and give us our best chance of bringing home a baby.
IVF is both an amazing opportunity and a significant financial burden. Over the last year, we’ve spent over $15,000 on tests, procedures, travel, and treatments. As we move forward with IVF, we’re faced with an out-of-pocket cost of $14,200 for one attempt. As IVF is not a 100% guarantee for a baby (more like 62% success rate), it sometimes requires multiple cycles before actually conceiving. While we’re crossing our fingers for a first-try success, we’re trying to remain realistic by understanding that this could be something we have to go through more than once, which would be an even bigger financial burden.
This has weighed heavy on our hearts as all we want is a baby of our own. Although this year has not been easy, we’re determined to persevere and do whatever it takes to bring home our baby Jensen. Your support gives us hope and reminds us that we’re not alone in this deeply emotional journey.
Should you choose to donate to us, we are eternally grateful for you! Even without a donation, sharing our story and spreading the word can be just as impactful. We appreciate you taking the time to hear our story and thank you for being a part of our greatest adventure!
