John and I have been married for 12 beautiful years, and from the moment we said "I do," we dreamed of filling our home with the laughter of children. But our journey to parenthood hasn’t been easy. Since John returned from deployment in 2012, we’ve faced the heartbreak of infertility at every duty station, every new home, every hopeful try. Though John has a daughter from his previous marriage, we’ve always longed for a child of our own—a little one to hold, to love, to watch grow. For years, we poured everything into caring for Kalianee, making sure she could travel between us and her biological mother. Then, in 2021, we were blessed with the miracle of gaining majority custody of her. She is our joy, and John is an incredible father to her, though he missed so much of her early years.
