Help Thomas and Lindsey start their dream family

My name is Lindsey, and my husband Thomas and I have been trying to get pregnant for several years to no avail. As a teacher of young children, I've spent most of my adult life caring for other people's children, teaching parents how to prepare environments for their young children, and studying child development. When we were ready to start a family of our own, we were so excited and felt mentally and financially prepared. However, each month we failed to get pregnant felt so devastating and confusing. After a myriad of tests, we discovered that our best shot at having a baby is through IVF, a procedure that can cost between $10,000 and $20,000 per cycle. Although we have been saving up money to prepare for a baby, we never imagined we'd have to spend so much of our savings just to get pregnant. In January 2022, we attempted our first IVF cycle. Although I was hopeful we would be successful and have several healthy embryos, our fresh cycle failed and we only had one low grade embryo make it to day 5 to be frozen. We are taking a short break before trying a frozen embryo cycle, but it is quite possible we will end up having to spend thousands of dollars more on another full round of IVF. Our infertility journey has been overwhelming physically, emotionally and financially. We're doing our best to keep our spirits up and take it one day a time, as this whole situation has been one of the most challenging experiences we have ever been through.
