Help the McCabes Raise Funds for IVF Treatment

Derrick and Sammie have been together for almost 13 years. After waiting 8 years and spending four of those long distance, they finally got married in fall 2019. After a COVID delay of several years, they finally went on their honeymoon on their third wedding anniversary. So these two are no strangers to waiting for life’s big moments. But this one might be the hardest wait yet. After rounds and rounds of infertility treatment, they recently found out that their only family building option is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). On top of being invasive, time consuming, and physically draining, IVF will cost around $30,000 with no insurance coverage (Although 21 states have fertility coverage laws, Virginia is not one of them). In an effort to reduce the stigma of infertility struggles and reach out for support, Derrick and Sammie are sharing their story. Making a donation to their IVF fund will take them one step closer to their goal of being parents. FUN TWIST! Sammie has decided that since she’s going to have to deal with lots of needles and appointments, Derrick needs to feel some discomfort to even things out. If the fundraiser reaches $15,000, Derrick will have to dye his hair a drastic color - either bleached blonde or bright blue.
