Hey everyone!
Kyle and I have been trying to conceive for about 10 months now. Myself being 36, fortunately my OBGYN was proactive and started investigating our infertility 3 months after trying with no success. Test after test and month after month we finally discovered that the issue was likely a semen issue. Even though it is rarely discussed because we live in a society where men are taught to hide these things, this is the cause for 40-50% of all cases of infertility. If more couples were outspoken about these things, we could all feel less shame and stigma around things out of our control. But because of this, it would be a miracle if we were able to conceive without medical intervention.
Thankfully, we have great insurance due to Kyle’s hard work at the company he works for and they are covering a huge portion of this but unfortunately we will still be responsible for roughly $10k. We just paid the fertility clinic $5800 today and will owe for medications, anesthesia, biopsies and testing our insurance didn’t cover and later a couple thousand more for the transfer of the embryos.
As many of you know, we have an 11 year old that Kyle stepped up and adopted this year. He is already a wonderful father and Penney and I both would love for him to get to experience a child from the beginning.
Kyle and I are pretty wonderful and we’re looking to create one of the best souls in the universe together ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Any help we receive is insanely appreciated as we were expecting insurance to actually cover quite a bit more than this.

Hey friends..🙋♀️🙋 If you or anyone you know is willing, we desperately need your help. 💸 As you all know, we have been going through IVF for the last year. Our last IVF session yielded two solid embryos - the first ended in a chemical pregnancy and the 2nd was a failed transfer. 💔 We have decided to try ONE more time but unfortunately, we have exhausted all of the portion of our benefits for medications.. this means that the brand spanking new credit card we got, doesnt have a high enough limit to even cover our egg retrieval in full, much less anything else. The number the pharmacy gave me made me want to vomit. We are not only seeing our IVF specialists but an acupuncture doctor and a dietitian to help. 🧪💉🍎 We love and appreciate your prayers as well, God works THROUGH people. Baseline ultrasound and bloodwork completed! We start injections 7/11! Thank you so much to those who have already donated. This means more than we can articulate to us. We can’t wait to grow our family and bring another wonderful Castro into this world.
Unfortunate update

As many of you know, Kyle and I transferred one of our only two embryos earlier this month. We chose our female embryo. After initial success and positive pregnancy tests, we unfortunately miscarried. We are devastated but managing. I think both of us are feeling good being off social media at this time but wanted to give an update to our journey. This means we have 1 more shot to get pregnant. We will probably try again next year with more tests and expenses to come. This process is not for the faint of heart and isn’t something I’d wish on anyone. Thank you for all the prayers and support we have received so far and that we know we will receive going forward.
