Heather & Sami�s heartfelt journey

My sister Heather is the "baby" in our family. She is an amazing Auntie to 10 nieces and nephews but has always hoped to become a mother herself someday. At 6 months old, she was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and Mitro Valve prolapse, a serious heart condition that cardiologists said wouldn't allow her to bear children. Heather lived most of her adult life thinking it wasn't an option. Fast forward 30 years, she meets the love of her life Sami, they get married and start the journey to motherhood together. After consulting with her cardiologist, she got the green light to carry a child, but it was with strong recommendation that her embryos be tested for the heart condition because it has a 50% of being passed on to her children. The IVF journey is already costly, but adding in embryo testing and sperm banks only increases that expense. Unfortunately, her insurance policy covers very little. Payments are all required up front so my hope is that this fundraiser will help lessen the burden for Heather and Sam. There are no two people I can think of that are more deserving of becoming parents, and I hope you agree that they deserve this opportunity!
