Erik & Adriana�s Dream

My name is Adriana,�and my�husband,�Erik. We married�on April 2017. We love kids.�As we were dating, we both talked about how much we wanted to have children. It was a topic we engaged several times because it brought great joy to us and it was fun picking out names for our�future�children.

If they asked me to describe myself�it would be�as a compassionate, empathetic, helpful, persevering, dreamer, and who�perseveres�until achieving�her�goals. I describe my husband as humble, compassionate, helpful, organized, highly intelligent, and patient.

I am the third of four sisters. I grew up in a home�with my parents and�siblings�in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. When I was a child, I used to play with my dolls with my sisters, and we pretended that the dolls were our�children. But my favorite game was playing doctor with my dolls. Since I suffered from asthma�as�a child,�I was�hospitalized�quite often.�I�used to�ask the nurses to�see if they could�give me�some�disposable syringes andmedical�supplies�they used on me. When I finally left the hospital, I would�take them�home to play with my dolls�and�dress up�as a doctor or nurse. It was fun having�my own little hospital in my room.�

Being in the healthcare�field was�always�a�desire�as a child, to help others get well just like doctors and nurses helped me.�In 1999, by the grace of God I was able to enter the�University�of Los Andes�in the city of Merida, Venezuela, to study Nursing. In 2004,�I�graduated top of my class.�Since then, I started working as a nurse in a�maternal and�children�s�hospital,�and two years later, in a pediatric hospital, which I greatly enjoyed because I have always felt a lot of love and affinity for children.�

At�33,�a bit of frustration came to me since I was not married yet,�my sisters on the other hand were married with children. But I still had hope�of one day finding that special companion�with whom to marry and form a family.

In 2015, I decided to emigrate to the United States of America, since my two older sisters had�been living here�for more than 20 years and, also, because for several years I wanted to be able to practice�nursing�here. Obtaining a Nursing license in the United States seemed like quite a challenge and sometimes even impossible. But my faith in God and his power helped me persevere in this dream, and in 2020�I�achieved the goal of obtaining my license�as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.

The year I arrived in the United States, I met a wonderful man,�the only�one�who made me finally make the decision to get married.�In Erik, God gave me much more than I dreamed of, much more than I asked for.�I had finally achieved another of my dreams�and goals.�And that's�how we started this beautiful�journey�in 2017, which we continue to this day, and we are sure that will continue forever.

My husband is a very intelligent man, but above all, with a heart full of love and compassion. He is the youngest of 14 children. He was born in New Jersey.�At the age of 11, his parents took him to live in Colombia�for�7�years, and he came back to the US�in 2001.He has worked as a�Radio�Technician in the Sheriff's�Office�in Palm Beach County�for 15�years, and he loves his job and�to serve�the community�through it.�He also�has�always dreamed of forming a family and having children. Since before we got married, he had already prepared himself in every way to have a home for his family.

My husband and I have many things in common, and one of those is that we love to help those in need. For more than 20 years,�I have been a volunteer�in non-profit organizations similar to the Boy Scouts (Adventurers, Pathfinders and Master Guides) to guide children and�teenagers�and�help�them�grow�as useful citizen�and�leaders for God and society. And my husband has served in these same organizations for over 11 years. Also, for more than 16 years, we have organized activities to raise funds for children in extreme poverty, as well as to help Latin American countries in�situations�of natural disasters. We also love animals, and we have three�cats:�Elvis, Lizzie and Dory.We�have a fish tank with a variety of fish�and a tortoise.�Also, we�love to travel and get to know new places and their history, and one of the�attractions�that we�cannot�miss when�in a�new city�is�the zoo.

Currently, I work as a nurse for a Home Care company and my husband works in the Sheriff�s Office. In�addition,�we continue to work as volunteers in the Pathfinder and Master Guide�ministries�which are part of�the�church�we both attend. We love to�teach and�guide�children�and their families.�

Despite the fact that until now we have not been able to have children,�we still continue with the dream of having our own child�or children, not only for the simple fact of having them, but we want to have a child that comes with a divine purpose, and to whom we can give all our love and good example,�to�help�him�or her grow�as a�useful, loving�and kind�person,�at the service of God and society.

After consulting with several fertility doctors, all of them have recommended that the best treatment for us is In Vitro Fertilization. But this treatment is very expensive, and until now we do not have the financial resources to afford �it. And due to my age, we must undergo this procedure as soon as possible. Therefore, we decided to start this campaign through this media, hoping that many hearts will be moved to support us.

  Mi nombre es Adriana, y mi esposo, Erik. Nos casamos en abril de 2017. Nos encantan los ni�os. Mientras eramos novios, ambos habl�bamos de cu�nto quer�amos tener hijos. Fue un tema que abordamos varias veces porque nos trajo mucha alegr�a y fue divertido elegir nombres para nuestros futuros hijos. Si me pidieran que me describiera, ser�a como una persona compasiva, emp�tica, servicial, perseverante, so�adora y que persevera hasta lograr sus metas. Describo a mi esposo como humilde, compasivo, servicial, organizado, muy inteligente y paciente. Soy la tercera de cuatro hermanas. Crec� en un hogar con mis padres y hermanos en la ciudad de Maracaibo, Venezuela. Cuando yo era ni�o, sol�a jugar con mis mu�ecas con mis hermanas y fing�amos que las mu�ecas eran nuestros hijos. Pero mi juego favorito era jugar al doctor con mis mu�ecas. Como sufr�a de asma cuando era ni�a, me hospitalizaban con bastante frecuencia. A las enfermeras les ped�a a ver si me pod�an dar unas jeringas desechables y el material m�dico que me aplicaron. Cuando finalmente sal�a del hospital, los llevaba a casa para jugar con mis mu�ecas y disfrazarme de m�dico o enfermera. Fue divertido tener mi propio peque�o hospital en mi habitaci�n. Estar en el campo de la salud siempre fue un deseo cuando era ni�o, para ayudar a otros a mejorar al igual que los m�dicos y las enfermeras me ayudaron a m�. En 1999 por la gracia de Dios pude ingresar a la Universidad de Los Andes en la ciudad de M�rida, Venezuela, para estudiar Enfermer�a. En 2004, me gradu� como el mejor de mi clase. Desde entonces comenc� a trabajar como enfermera en un hospital materno infantil, y dos a�os despu�s, en un hospital pedi�trico, lo cual disfrut� mucho porque siempre sent� mucho amor y afinidad por los ni�os. A los 33 a�os me vino un poco de frustraci�n ya que a�n no estaba casada, mis hermanas en cambio estaban casadas y ten�an hijos. Pero a�n ten�a la esperanza de encontrar alg�n d�a esa compa�era especial con quien casarme y formar una familia. En 2015 decid� emigrar a los Estados Unidos de Am�rica, ya que mis dos hermanas mayores viv�an aqu� desde hac�a m�s de 20 a�os y, tambi�n, porque desde hac�a varios a�os quer�a poder ejercer aqu� la enfermer�a. Obtener una licencia de Enfermer�a en los Estados Unidos parec�a todo un desaf�o y, a veces, incluso imposible. Pero mi fe en Dios y su poder me ayudaron a perseverar en este sue�o, y en el 2020 logr� la meta de obtener mi licencia como Enfermera Registrada en el estado de Florida. El a�o que llegu� a los Estados Unidos conoc� a un hombre maravilloso, el �nico que finalmente me hizo tomar la decisi�n de casarme. En Erik, Dios me dio mucho m�s de lo que so��, mucho m�s de lo que ped�. Por fin hab�a logrado otro de mis sue�os y metas. Y as� comenzamos este hermoso viaje en 2017, que continuamos hasta el d�a de hoy, y estamos seguros que continuar� para siempre. Mi esposo es un hombre muy inteligente, pero sobre todo, con un coraz�n lleno de amor y compasi�n. Es el menor de 14 hijos. Naci� en Nueva Jersey. A la edad de 11 a�os, sus padres lo llevaron a vivir a Colombia por 7 a�os y regres� a los EE. UU. en 2001. Ha trabajado como t�cnico de radio en la oficina del alguacil en el condado de Palm Beach durante 15 a�os y le encanta su trabajo y servir a la comunidad a trav�s de �l. Tambi�n siempre ha so�ado con formar una familia y tener hijos. Desde antes de casarnos ya se hab�a preparado en todos los sentidos para tener un hogar para su familia. Mi esposo y yo tenemos muchas cosas en com�n, y una de ellas es que nos encanta ayudar a los necesitados. Desde hace m�s de 20 a�os soy voluntario en organizaciones sin fines de lucro afines a los Boy Scouts (Aventureros, Conquistadores y Gu�as Mayores) para guiar a ni�os y j�venes y ayudarlos a crecer como ciudadanos �tiles y l�deres para Dios y la sociedad. Y mi esposo ha servido en estas mismas organizaciones por m�s de 11 a�os. Asimismo, desde hace m�s de 16 a�os organizamos actividades para recaudar fondos para ni�os en extrema pobreza, as� como para ayudar a los pa�ses latinoamericanos en situaciones de desastres naturales. Tambi�n amamos a los animales y tenemos tres gatos: Elvis, Lizzie y Dory. Tenemos una pecera con una variedad de peces y una tortuga. Adem�s, nos encanta viajar y conocer nuevos lugares y su historia, y una de las atracciones que no podemos perdernos cuando estamos en una nueva ciudad es el zool�gico. Actualmente, trabajo como enfermera para una empresa de atenci�n domiciliaria y mi esposo en la oficina del alguacil. Adem�s, continuamos trabajando como voluntarios en los ministerios de Conquistadores y Gu�as Maestros que son parte de la iglesia a la que ambos asistimos. Nos encanta ense�ar y guiar a los ni�os y sus familias. A pesar de que hasta ahora no hemos podido tener hijos, seguimos con el sue�o de tener nuestro propio hijo o hijos, no solo por el simple hecho de tenerlos, sino que queremos tener un hijo que venga con un prop�sito divino, y a quien podemos dar todo nuestro amor y buen ejemplo, para ayudarlo a crecer como persona �til, amorosa y bondadosa, al servicio de Dios y de la sociedad. Despues de consultar con varios medicos especialistas en fertilidad, todos ellos han recomendado que el mejor tratamiento para nosotros es la Fertilizacion In Vitro. Pero este tratamiento es muy costoso, y hasta ahora no contamos con los recursos economicos para costearlo. Y debido a mi edad, debemos someternos a este procedimiento lo mas pronto posible. Por ello, decidimos iniciar esta campa�a a traves de este medio, con la esperanza de que muchos corazones sean movidos para apoyarnos Agradecemos de antemano a todos aquellos que dar�n su aporte para ayudarnos a que nuestro sue�o se haga realidad.
