Hi my name is Jenni and I have been trying to become a mother for about four years with little luck and previous miscarriages. I felt like I knew some was wrong but for years I was dismissed. That was until I met Dr. K Lee, I am so blessed to have met a doctor who actually listens and cares. For so long I was convinced that infertility was my fault and my concerns were in my head. I thought I had to be healthier, take more vitamins and supplements. Back then I felt too afraid to advocate for my health so I gave up. In December of 2021 I was finally diagnosed with APS a rare blood disorder that was causing clots when I conceived and wouldnt allow me to have a healthy pregnancy. With modern medicine I am now able to carry full term with a 71% success rate. My doctors are really excited for me to start my journey into motherhood as am I. However, I wouldnt want to pass this on to my child. This is where I need all the help I can get. I have dreamed about being a mom since I was a little girl. I am a future single mother by choice working as a client success specialist for a online charity auction remotely. I am a second generation Caribbean-American with a degree focused on information technology management. Every year I wait my percentage of having a successful pregnancy goes down, its crucial for me to complete my dream. Im a Virgo and I am very analytical I set plans for everything I do. However Im also spiritual and I know that if you ever want to make the big man upstairs laughhave a plan. I went to my GYN for guidance and now I am forever grateful that she found out what was wrong. A dream I thought was never going to happen is closer than ever before. I am so excited to start the process of becoming a mom again. I have a new sense of hope. My doctors have given me the ok, I have seen: a hematologist, an obgyn, my primary care, and a fetal maternal practitioner. We have a plan set in motion when it comes to treatment while pregnant all I have to say is that Im ready and I start heparin shots until six weeks after my pregnancy. I have set a daily routine, changed my diet, loss weight, got a therapist, downsized to a cheaper apartment, and built up a better support system. I am ready! Please help make my life long dream become a reality. Thank you for reading my story if you cant donate please help me with easing awareness for APS! June is APS awareness month. Thank you ?
