Me and my partner Rekha have been on our fertility journey for about two years. We’ve always known we wanted a family ever since we met. We are surrounded by our family and friends as they embark on their journey of parenthood. As pregnancy comes slightly easier for them, we are struggling to get our chance. We decided we would begin the IUI process at the beginning of the pandemic (CRAZY-I know!) We had our first cycle attempt in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. All of our tests came back normal, but we later discovered her fallopian tube was blocked, resulting in failure. Our doctor encouraged us to move forward with additional rounds, and regroup after a specific number of failed cycles if need be. The second round I was going to try to conceive! Our treatment journey included one IUI round with donor sperm, including medication to speed up ovulation (trigger shot). Our story kicked off with a positive pregnancy test, a few weeks after the procedure. We were excited, but still unsure if it was accurate. After multiple tests, we never got another positive. We were very bummed and felt like somehow we failed. After we talked about the time not being right, it was hard to remain positive and continue to have faith in the “plan”. We are now going to try for the third time and hopefully the third times a charm! I am asking you to help us on this new path and journey by donating to our fundraiser.
