Hi there! I’m Michel’le and my husband is Matthew. We recently celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary, and throughout our marriage we’ve been on the journey of trying to grow our family. We started seeing a fertility specialist in early 2024, but it took several months to move forward due to testing and the doctor’s availability. We eventually switched fertility centers and began our first treatment in November 2024. We did INVOcell, a more natural approach, which yielded one embryo. Our first fresh embryo transfer was on December 17, 2024. On Christmas morning, we learned it was unsuccessful. With hope in our hearts, we tried again and transferred two embryos on February 10, 2025. Most recently, on May 8, 2025— a date especially meaningful to me as it’s my Aunt Desseree’s heavenly birthday— we went through our third transfer. I work as a flight attendant and the company I work for laid off hundreds of pilots. In an effort to not do the same for flight attendants they asked volunteers to take a year off. We were going into the first treatment optimistic and since it would be high risk pregnancy we thought it would be best for me to take the leave. So we are down to one source of income which initially wasn’t a problem but the thing with infertility is there is a lot of uncertainty. Our insurance does not cover fertility treatments so we have had to pay out of pocket for treatments, medication, travel expenses, etc. Unfortunately fertility treatment costs thousands of dollars each time. With faith and determination, we are preparing for another round of fertility treatment. With your support, we remain hopeful that this next step will bring us closer to our dream of becoming parents.
